IJSO-2023: Georgian Students Shine on the International Stage

This year, at the 20th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) held in Bangkok, Thailand, the Georgian national team was proudly represented by the talented 10th-grade students of the Georgian-American School and Georgian-American High School:

  • Ana Chkhortolia

  • Nikoloz Quloshvili

  • Raul Khuchua

  • Nikoloz Abashidze

  • Giorgi Phanjikidze

  • Iakob Safarashvili

The team was guided by:

  • Irma Meskhiashvili, Principal of the Georgian-American School,

  • Mamuka Meskhiashvili, Principal of the Georgian-American High School, and

  • Giorgi Vasadze, Physics teacher and team leader.

The IJSO is one of the most challenging science Olympiads globally, spanning 10 days and featuring three rigorous rounds: multiple-choice tests, theoretical challenges, and experimental assignments.

This year’s opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand.

Bravo! A Bronze Medal at the World Olympiad!
